In this hands on class you will learn how to make the ModeKnit Yarn Slippy Cowl. The class will cover the long tail cast-on, joining for knitting in the round, knitting, purling, slipping stitches (mosaic knitting) and binding off your cowl. Color choices will be discussed, as well as choosing the right yarn. If time allows, other types of cast-ons and bind-offs will be discussed/demonstrated. Students will leave class with the knowledge and skills to complete the cowl started in class. Suitable for novice or beginning knitters.

Skill level needed for class:Students should know how to knit and purl.
Materials provided by the instructor:Instructional handout, Slippy Cowl pattern. Kits are for sale in the ModeKnit Yarn booth but students may bring their own yarn.
Supplies to bring and homework:DK or worsted weight yarn, at least 50 grams each of two highly contrasting colors, a stitch marker, and circular knitting needles in the appropriate size for the yarn. Cord length should be 16” or 20”.
