Class Proposal Form

Planning is now under way for classes to be offered at North Country Fiber Fair 2022, which will take place September 16-18. Although changes in Covid-19 can of course require us to reevaluate our plans, we are now counting on having an in-person event and very much hope that you will submit one or more class proposals.

As in previous years, we are looking for new ideas for classes in addition to ones that have worked well in the past. We define fiber arts broadly at NCFF: for example, paper, pine needles, wire, basketry, needlework, and sprang all fit under our class umbrella. Class proposals may focus on beginning or unique skills in any of the traditional fiber arts, as well as on unusual methods in a wide variety of craft forms.

For ease of scheduling, we encourage you to make your class one or two sessions, two to four hours in length each. Students will pay $15 per class hour, of which the instructor will receive half. For example, each student will pay $45 for a 3-hour class, of which you would receive $22.50. Please be explicit in your proposal about all materials that students must have for your class. Note also that our students very much appreciate getting handouts.

Please submit class proposals by April 15. You may submit up to three proposals.

We will let you know by May 1 if your class has been chosen for our 2022 fair. We will need one to three photos (.jpg or .png) of the finished class project showcasing the skills taught in the class. Note that we cannot use photos embedded in a pdf. Please ensure that the image is at least 300 ppi/dpi and will show clearly at a small size (no more than 1″—2″ on a side) in black and white as well as color. Maximum file size for each image is 256 MB.

Do let us know if you have any questions at classes@northcountryfiberfair.org. We hope that we will see you in September 2022.
