Stitch Exploration Scarf

Students will work on a series of stitches in class, making several swatches or a mini-scarf. Students will get a scarf pattern using ten stitches, including cables, slipped stitches, lace, beading, double stitches, twisted stitches, and cast off (within the fabric). The stitches shown in class include a V-shaped border, small fancy twist, small pine with beads lace, fisherman’s rib, and diamonds drop.

Minimum number of students: 1

Maximum number: 12

Skill level: Able to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off. Reading a chart for color is helpful but not required.

Minimum age: 12

Notes: Bring one or more colors of yarn of any weight (3 or 4 is easier to learn on), and needles appropriate to the size of yarn.
