Introduction to Pin Loom Weaving

Instructor: Margaret Stump

This is the course to take if you are curious about pin looms. Participants will learn to weave on both a 2″ and a 4″ pin loom. Each participant will weave a mug rug as well as create a flower and a three dimensional bee to embellish the mug rug. All looms, yarn, weaving supplies, and printed instructions will be provided for the course. This is a good place to start if you are just curious about pin loom weaving or if you have your own pin looms but have little experience in using them.

Minimum number of students: 3

Maximum number: 10

Skill level: Class is open to anyone curious about weaving on pin looms. Because these looms are very small, they require some fine motor skills as well as close-up vision.

Minimum age: 12

Notes: Registration includes a $10 materials fee, which covers the tools, yarn, and other supplies needed to complete the project.

Supplies needed: Nothing required. Students are encouraged to bring their own pin loom(s), if they have one or more, to practice on. 4″ and 2″ pin looms will be available to use during class if students do not have their own.
