Just a little less than two weeks to go until NCFF 2013!
We, as a board, are very excited about what the event has to offer this year and we’ve been working very hard to pull everything together. We just have a few notes/announcements/reminders/housekeeping things to pass along…
First, make sure to get your registrations in, especially if you’re interested in taking a basket or knitting class. There are several classes that have openings. Please take advantage of these wonderful learning opportunities and try something new. The absolute deadline to submit your registration by mail is Sept 15th. You can still register at the fair for any classes that might be available at the fair though. We take registrations until the class fills or the class starts but getting your registrations in sooner than later will help to guarantee you a spot in the classes you want.
Secondly, we have an amazing supper planned on Saturday night that you won’t want to miss this year. The cost of the Saturday night supper is $17.50. Make sure to include this with your registration. It’s best to pre-register for this as the number of meals available at the fair will be limited.
You also won’t want to miss the Saturday night supper because afterward we will have the fashion show, Winnie Johnson will give her talk about her trip Helena Hernmarck and we will give away the door prizes. You can check out the list of door prizes we have to give away under the “Sponsors” tab of the website. There are some really good ones.
We will also be having a goat show on Saturday. You can find more information about this here http://www.heartlandgoatassociation.com/.
If you’re planning on entering the skein or project competitions, please remember if you’re mailing in your submissions, we need to RECEIVE them by Wednesday the 18th. If you are bringing your submissions with you, you need to turn them in by 3pm on Friday the 20th. If you are unable to pick up your entry at the fair, you need to include a self-addressed, stamped enveloped/box with your entry so we can mail it back to you.
We’re still looking for some volunteers for the following:
• Set up:
Friday, one-hour shifts from noon to 3 pm.
Friday, two-hour shifts from 3-8 pm
Saturday, two-hour shifts from 7:30 am to 4 pm
Sunday, two-hour shifts from 7:30 am to 3 pm
To volunteer, please contact Betty directly on Facebook (Betty Byron Clay) or Ravelry (bettysloft).
Spinolution has generously donated a King Bee wheel for us to add to the spinning wheel raffle in addition to the Ashford Traveler. You can print your raffle tickets from the website and turn them in at the information table at the fair. The raffle winners will be announced on Sunday.
Finally, we have decided to extend the goat naming competition. We will close the Facebook submissions at noon on September 15th as planned but you will still be able to submit your choice for names at the fair. We will close submissions at NCFF at noon on Saturday and will announce the names we’ve chosen during the supper on Saturday night. Remember the winner for each name will get $25 in NCFF bucks to be spent at the vendors.
We hope that you all have had a wonderful Summer and that you’re as excited about this year’s NCFF as we are.
Until then, we’ll see you at the fair!
